NC Representative Larry Womble comes through Another Surgery (Winston-Salem, NC) – Representative Larry Womble underwent what medical professionals have labeled as “one of a series of surgeries” today at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Representative Womble went into surgery at approximately 7:30 Tuesday morning and was taken back to the ICU around 12 p.m. As of 4:30 p.m., his condition remains critical, but his vital signs are stable.

The family’s spokesperson, Tanya Wiley, said “he is not out of the woods as of yet, but the family breathes a sigh of relief following each surgical procedure”.

The family continues to ask that the public keep the family of David Carmichael, who perished after the crash, in their thoughts and prayers and continue to pray for Representative Womble’s recovery.

  • The public will be updated as additional information becomes available.
  • All media inquiries should be directed to Tanya Wiley at 336-794-4025.
  • Representative Larry Womble represents Winston-Salem, Forsyth County’s 71st District in the NC General Assembly.

OUR PRAYERS

As most are aware, on 12/02/11, our beloved brother Hon. Larry Womble was in a car accident which left him 'critically' injured and sad to say, leaving one person perished; Mr. David Carmichael.

Mr. Womble has represented the 71st District in the North Carolina General Assembly for five consecutive terms since 1995.  Larry Womble has contributed and supported the LOP organization and Liberian community for many years.  I am humble to call him my Friend.

  • Larry Womble - Medical updates are availabe on this site
  •  Mr. Carmichael -  Funeral Services was held on 12/09/11.

We extend our condolences to the Carmichael family.

We ask that the community come together and continue to support and pray for these families that God gives them the strength to  endure such tradegy.
