A vision of the LOP’s current and founding president, James Yarncie Hunder, Sr., is to host a Community Leaders and Legends Hall of Fame Ball here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The LOP's annual Community Leaders and Legends Hall of Fame endorsed by Winston-Salem City Mayor Allen Joines, will recognize and honor works, sacrifices and the life of those individuals, who serve as role models and positive examples of civic-minded members of the community, state, and the world.

To move from vision to reality, a planning committee formed in August 2008.  The premiere Hall of Fame Awards Dinner was held in September 2009.

Each year community leaders and legends will be nominated by the community at large and winners will be recognized during a prestigious Hall of Fame Ball honoring them and their accomplishments.  Along with the leaders and legends award recipients, we will also recognize an excelling college student with a scholarship.

COMPLETE and SUBMIT:

Nomination forms for community leaders and legends will be accepted through June 15, 2010. 

Scholarship applications for all interested college students will also be accepted through June 15, 2010.   

      The LOP hopes to award a $1000.00 scholarship 

      to a deserving undergraduate student. The scholarship

      winner will be honored at LOP’s annual Community

      Leaders and Legends Hall of Fame Ball.  This premier

      event is scheduled for September 2010 in Winston-

      Salem, North Carolina.

      The Community Leaders and Legends Scholarship is

      open to

• current full-time undergraduate students of an accredited four year institution; and

• students, who are permanent residents or citizens of the U.S.

       Students, who are children or grandchildren of officers

       and members of LOP and the Community Leaders

       and Legends Hall of Fame Committee are not

       qualified to apply.

       Interested and qualified students may apply for the

       scholarship.
